With the APS system FELIOS from Aachen-based optimization specialist INFORM, ruhlamat GmbH has significantly increased its productivity. The planning of this specialist in custom machine engineering is now much more efficient and transparent. Resource availability and on-time delivery have also improved significantly, positively impacting both internal processes and collaboration with customers.

In special machine construction, flexibility and precision are crucial, as each customer requires individual solutions. The increasing complexity of machines and projects posed significant planning and capacity challenges for ruhlamat without a production planning tool. The lack of real-time data and transparency meant that project delays had to be managed manually. This made it difficult to respond quickly to changes and ensure planning efficiency.
To address these challenges, ruhlamat decided to implement FELIOS | APS as early as 2012. Before its introduction, the company relied heavily on paper-based planning and used the AMS ERP system. Especially when schedules changed, the process was highly time-consuming, as entire paper documents had to be replaced. Additionally, with ERP alone, ruhlamat could only plan based on unlimited capacities. Thanks to FELIOS | APS, capacity constraints can now be realistically determined.

In 2022, ruhlamat expanded its production planning with FELIOS | PM. This newly developed industry solution enables centralized and comprehensive capacity planning for all productive areas. The ERP system remains the leading system, continuing to manage key data such as master records. However, the entire capacity planning process is now handled within FELIOS | PM, as all employee absences are automatically transferred from the ERP system to the INFORM tool.
