GroundStar Enhances Efficiency of Talma at Key Colombian Airports
Jul 12, 2024
We are pleased to announce that INFORM now provides Talma, a leading airport services provider in Latin America, with advanced ground handling optimization software for its operations in Colombia.
Talma is initiating the implementation of GroundStar (GS) Planning and GS WorkforcePlus at its operations center in Bogota airport. The plan is to extend these solutions to other primary airports they manage, including those in Cali, Medellín, and Cartagena. GroundStar’s ability to expedite data processing for resource planning and scheduling will impact Talma’s more than 3,500 ground-handling employees across these Colombian locations.
Driving Resource Optimization with Advanced Software
GS Planning optimizes ground handling staff, equipment, stands, and terminal resources. GS WorkforcePlus is our workforce management solution that facilitates schedule adjustments and shift swaps, balancing employees’ personal needs with business profitability and service quality. Additionally, GS WorkforcePlus improves personnel well-being by implementing appropriate shift schedules in line with legal regulations and fatigue management guidelines.
“This partnership will empower Talma to tackle some of their most significant challenges. We take pride in offering fully localized implementation and support through our office in Santiago de Chile,” stated Uschi Schulte-Sasse, Senior Vice President of INFORM Aviation.
“During the pilot phase and implementation, we observed a team deeply committed to integrating two of GroundStar's main modules in a highly professional manner. We look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future,” commented Federico dos Reis, CEO of INFORM Latin America SSC. “In the upcoming years, operations in Colombia will face challenges due to labor changes that will complicate roster creation. This added complexity presents new challenges that GS WorkforcePlus will effectively address,” dos Reis added.
“Proof of concept testing in tandem with INFORM was an ideal way to analyze the functionality and adaptability of these systems and made it highly transparent that Talma would greatly benefit from greater efficiency in resource planning,” said Alejandro Molina V, Talma Commercial and Project Manager. “Among the goals we plan to achieve are resource optimization to realize projected savings and the ability to integrate existing technological tools to avoid manual data management,” he added.
