Financial Crime Fighters United: Highlights of the 9th RiskShield International Networking Event

Oct 29, 2024 // Hannah Kuck

Networking at our RiskShield Networking Event

It’s loud – around 85 decibels, somewhat comparable to a lawn mower or the traffic of a busy street. But this noise is no cause for concern. On the contrary, it reflects the sound of lively discussions, industry leading presentations and thoughtprovoking exchanges at the 9th International RiskShield Networking Event in Cologne, Germany!

As in years past, INFORM’s Risk and Fraud Division once again brought together customers, industry experts, and partners for our user event to discuss what matters most to us: the joint fight against financial crime.

“Financial Crime Fighters on Air. Innovating Today to Secure Tomorrow” – This year’s theme brought together 115 people from 14 different countries in Cologne, the media capital of Germany.

Over two days, we explored strategies and concepts to create a safer future. The large turnout and the lively communication demonstrated that we are a strong community confronting the challenges of modern financial crime globally.

Diverse Program and Inspiring Speakers

Our event, now in its 9th year in 2024, is a mix of informative presentations, interactive workshops, and, above all, a platform for intensive networking and collaboration.

Our highly experienced guest speakers, including Erwin Kulk (EBA CLEARING), Anton Jan Cozijnsen (Rabobank), Sebastian Reischuck (Viseca Payment Services), and Alan Morley (HURON), alongside our RiskShield experts Andrea Vieten, Nezar Nassr, and Sara Knabe, provided insights into current developments and forward-looking technologies that will continue to shape the financial industry.

From the latest trends in sanctions screening to the role of open data in combating financial crime, the program covered a wide range of topics, including:

"Criminals are using advanced technologies similar to those we use to instead deceive and manipulate people," says Roy Prayikulam, Head of our Risk & Fraud division.

"From sophisticated phishing scams to complex money laundering schemes, the threats are constantly increasing in complexity. This is exactly why we have gathered here for this event – to find solutions that will stand the test of time, not just today but also tomorrow."

Hands-on experience: First-hand RiskShield Insights

For our customers who work daily with our RiskShield software solution, the event offers the perfect opportunity not only to learn about the latest features but to also engage directly with our specialists.

Throughout the two-day event, our RiskShield experts were available to discuss current developments, present upcoming solution updates, and, most importantly, answer users’ questions directly in an open forum.

Eva Roes, Product Manager at INFORM, emphasizes, "Getting feedback from our RiskShield community in person is particularly insightful and valuable to me. I’m excited to be here!"

A particularly practical agenda point is "Hands-On RiskShield," where participants can try out our latest developments at demo stations. Topics include machine learning, risk-based authentication, SaaS, and compliance solutions aimed at the ever changing regulatory landscape.

Participants shared their own experiences and received valuable insights and solutions to their current challenges directly from our experts. One major highlight was the presentation of the RiskShield Copilot, which offers real-time support and integrates essential automation into workflows.

Making Contacts and Sharing Knowledge: Networking that connects

The participants’ feedback confirms the success of this year’s networking event. Many appreciated the opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people, to make new contacts, and to learn from other members of the RiskShield community.

One participant noted, "The event has an inspiring atmosphere and brings together a fantastic group of interesting people. I love the open communication between the participants!"

At INFORM, we are proud to host our user event annually, providing a platform where financial experts can share experiences and gain new insights.

For many, the exchange with others is a highlight, and the diversity of perspectives greatly enriches the discussions. "Sharing experiences with people who do very similar work but are in different companies in different parts of the world is incredibly valuable," another participant emphasizes.

Thank You!

"In the past two days, we’ve explored different approaches and ideas to build a safer and more resilient future through technological advances," summarizes our division manager Roy Prayikulam. "We’ve made the most of this unique gathering and will continue to fight financial crime on the frontlines."

With great enthusiasm, we at INFORM are already looking forward to next year and are excited to welcome the RiskShield community once again.

It is our mission to make the financial world safer, and we are convinced that we can achieve this together.

A big thank you to all participants, speakers, and partners – and see you at the 10th International RiskShield Networking Event in 2025!
